Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah (The Beginning and the End) is a monumental classical encyclopedia of Islamic history by the 14th-century scholar Ibn Kathir. Because the original Arabic text is massive, a single complete unabridged English translation does not exist. Instead, it is available in English through abridged thematic sets like the Darussalam collection or multi-volume editions.
