An introduction to Chapter96Bookz
Chapter 96 Bookz was founded in December 2020 by Adeeb Conrad, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chapter 96 Bookz was borne out of my love for books, books and books. A long time dream that hadn’t been given any action, due to fear of failure, fear of success and dozens of excuses.
Eventually I ran out of excuses, bought 2 titles from a local publisher and added it to my WhatsApp status. To my surprise they were sold within a few weeks. I started my Instagram page Chapter96Bookz, started adding titles, finding new suppliers, new genres and publishers. The next step was our own online e-commerce site, simplify and streamline your shopping experience.
I’m a life-long learner and perpetual student who loves this business, passionate about to find new books, help you find yours or just chat.

Objectives
1. Provide high quality beneficial Literature both Islamic, fiction and non-fiction Islamic literature is and has been available for several years, but have hampered individual’s reading experience by being poorly edited, bad translations of classical texts or a terrible quality. I aim to provide literature that is not only beneficial and authentic, but also looks and feels great.
2. Connect other with books – Thousands of books are published each year, so much so that its difficult to know what’s being published and where. I aim to stay abreast of new books and make them available to our local readers
3. Provide guidance and advice on what to read – Books have been written on nearly every conceivable subject, feeling and experience. I aim to guide you to the one most suited to what you’d like to learn, cope with or just enjoy.
4. Foster a culture of reading – Provide books, reviews, promotional offers, discussions and a book club (insha Allah) that encourages reading and connecting with others who enjoy a good book
5. Quell the under representation of Islamic literature in mainstream book stores – The mainstream book stores ignore Islam in their religion sections. If they don’t stock suitable Islamic literature, we’ll do it ourselves
6. Assist students in sourcing beneficial aids through their studies – Cape Town has seen a boom in madaris teaching Arabic and Islamic studies in both part-time and full-time studies.
I aim to highlight key resources that will assist them along their journey”
